“Class 8” typically indicates a
rural area with no fire hydrants
“A” indicates that Tender
(Water Truck) Credit has been granted
(ECF&R has 5 Tenders which each carry
2,500 gallons of water).
PLEASE NOTE:
The Washington State
Survey & Rating Bureau is now placing greater emphasis on the “Five Mile
Rule”—which grants recognition for fire protection ONLY to houses within
5 road-miles of a Fire Station.
East County Fire &
Rescue is working on a plan to develop “satellite stations” in areas of
the Fire District greater than 5 road-miles from our existing Fire
Stations. The biggest challenge is, of course, funding the purchase of
property, buildings, apparatus, etc.
We are always looking
for GOOD Fire and/or EMS Volunteers to staff current and future Fire
Stations.
Contact the
Administration Office (360.835.5511) if you have questions about our
Fire Protection Class Rating; our plan to develop satellite Fire
Stations; or about any other aspect of the Service we provide to this
Community.
